Language Arts
By the end of third grade,
students have read a wide variety of children's literature with oral and silent
reading fluency. They draw upon various comprehension strategies, and
distinguish between the structural features of the text and literary terms or
elements.
Students write in clear and coherent sentences and paragraphs that develop a
central idea and demonstrate a command of standard American English. Students
listen critically and respond appropriately to oral communication.
